A SETTLEMENT is on the cards in the dispute involving Government and construction firm 3S?Barbados SRL.
Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler confirmed yesterday that lawyers representing Government had been directed to reach a settlement on the issue, but could not say what progress had been made.
Six months after taking over the reins of Government in 2008, late Prime Minister David Thompson fired 3S Barbados which had been contracted for the multimillion-dollar ABC Highway expansion and the erection of controversial flyovers.
About a year later, 3S filed a US$17 million suit against Government. (TS)
