FLYING FISH & COU COU: Thar she blows

A big brouhaha that will make the St Joseph Hospital inquiry look like a Sunday School class is expected to blow up in the coming weeks, when an investigation is launched into a certain individual’s suspicious connections.
Word reaching Cou Cou is that the individual, along with others, was party to the formation of a company overseas to supply certain materials to an organization here.
It is further alleged that the individual let it be known within the organization that, wherever possible, this company should be considered for the supply of materials needed to handle their work.
The individual’s intention was thwarted, however, when some big boys got wind of the scheme and the individual was moved from the organization.
But other people who have heard about the matter and have been gathering information on it are planning to blow the matter wide open for everyone to know.
Stay tuned for more on this.
Ready to fire
A verbal explosion is building, and when it happens it could sink someone’s reputation.
Cou Cou understands that the promise made in an esteemed place to honour an outstanding matter cannot be kept. If this is true, the victim to whom the pledge was made is expected to release a barrage of verbal shots against the one who assured him of a satisfactory conclusion to the matter.
Already the victim has said that when a person of stature makes a promise in an esteemed place and then breaks it, that affects the standing of the individual.
So if the worst comes to the worst and his matter is not resolved as promised, then the one who made the pledge could be viewed in an unfavourable light.
We shall see.
The road not taken?
Has the public taken a six for a nine?
That seems to be the impression being given by people close to a certain man.
From what Cou Cou was told, this man’s confidants are saying that when one looks at what he was reported to have said, one would clearly see that “if” was the operative word. That is, “if” wrongdoing was found, then there would be consequences.
These insiders are suggesting that if no wrongdoing was found then he can’t say anything. In any case, he has no plans of indulging in a lot of frivolity as others would like him to do.
To this explanation, others are suggesting that a path is being made whereby nothing needs to be said, since he’ll be damned if he acts and damned if he doesn’t.
Word is, though, that since so many expect him to act, he will do something, however slight, to appease.
Having the last laugh
A certain group of people are now finding out what the saying “you can win a battle but lose the war” means.
From what Cou Cou has been told, a colleague of these people is laughing all the way to the bank. It seems the individual did not get a big pick because of them, but as consolation got the salary for the job – but not the responsibility.
No wonder that person is laughing now!
