I HAVE BEEN IN LOVE with my best friend for as long as I can remember. The thing is, sometimes I feel that he is in love with me too.
It all started about a year ago when he called me a bit sleepy and told me he was in love with me.
Christine, I really believed him but when I asked him about it the next morning, he said he did not remember ever telling that.
Since that night my feelings for him have gotten even stronger. Every now and again he still tells me that he loves me and then he laughs.
My whole world revolves around him and I just can’t stop thinking about him. He is always in my thoughts and this is not easy.
I go to sleep with him on my mind and I wake up with him on my mind.
I think we need to talk about our feelings but I am not sure if he wants to.
Can you please tell me what to do?

Dear M.P.,
I’m not quite sure what to make of your situation other than to say that your friend is really not taking you as seriously as you think.
Why should he lie to you when he said he could not remember telling you that he is in love with you?
I would figure that if he did not remember telling you so, then it was the right time to admit that he is. He seems to be playing a game with your heart.
It’s either that, or he is waiting for you to reciprocate and tell him you love him also. Don’t you think that there is a lack of communication between you two? Both of you need to sit down and clear the air about your feelings.
Telling somebody you love them is not the same as saying “I am in love with you”. Make sure you both are on the same wavelength when you speak about being in love and loving each other.
