A PROJECT that is expected to revolutionize welfare delivery in Barbados is set to begin in another few months.
Advisor on Poverty Eradication and the Millennium Development Goals, Undene Whittaker, who is chairing the oversight committee of the Identification Stabilization Enablement and Empowerment (ISEE) bridge project, confirmed to the SUNDAY SUN in a recent interview that the programme is on track for a mid-year start.
The project, which will help 30 selected households, is aimed at reducing inter-generational poverty in Barbados.
Whittaker said the programme would be buttressed by “a tremendous amount of psycho-social support” where household facilitators would interact, on a regular basis, with the families.
Full story in today’s SUNDAY SUN.
