Suite investments offered
Government has offered a suite of incentives to attract what is expected to be a multi-million dollar investment at the former the St Joseph Hospital, in St Peter.
According to Leader of Government Business in the Senate, Senator Maxine McClean, the operators of American World Clinics Barbados Limited will get tax relief on building materials used at the facility, while professionals working there will receive tax and other benefits associated with international business entities.
The senator made the comments today as she led debate in the Upper House on a resolution to lease lands at Ashton Hall, St Peter to American World Clinics Barbados Limited to develop a medical and rehabilitative facility targeting mainly foreign clients.
McClean, who is also Minister of Foreign Affairs, said American World Clinics Barbados Limited was expected to generate significant foreign exchange for the country, provide more than 200 permanent jobs and take increased economic activity to the north. (GE)
