KENSINGTON OVAL has been the scene of many fantastic feats and fond memories.
At the historic ground, fondly called The Mecca of cricket in the Caribbean, two more sons of the soil, Dwayne Smith and Fidel Edwards, stole the show yesterday with memorable individual batting and bowling displays.
The joyful fans jumped and waved as the West Indies triumphed over Australia by 14 runs to square the Digicel Twenty20 series 1-1. And Smith didn’t disappoint; he provided some early fireworks in a boundary-studded half-century, much to the delight of the more than 10 000 cricket fans who converged on the famous ground.
From about noon, there had been a steady stream of spectators, with the young and old filing through the turnstiles.?
