Gold buyer in favour of regulation

One of the leading players in the cash-for-gold trade is in favour of Government regulation.
Scott Goodman, owner of Barbados Gold Buyers, said it was but one of the necessary steps.
“Every industry needs some sort of regulation so I think it’s a step in the right direction,” he said, adding that additional steps were also needed to address the problem of gold jewellery theft.
Goodman was responding to a statement by Commissioner of Police Darwin Dottin, who said that the Ministry of Home Affairs may be taking the issue of crime related to the cash-for-gold scheme to Cabinet.
