Lashley: Let Crop Over be

LEAVE CROP OVER to local stakeholders.
That is the word from Minister of Culture Stephen Lashley, who was responding to rumours that plans are in the works for a show featuring local sensation Rihanna, Jay-Z and other big names during Crop Over.
Lashley insists that there have been no discussions with the ministry or the National Cultural Foundation (NCF) about such a venture, however.
While he noted that people were attracted to Crop Over, he said he would prefer if events that could offer competition were held outside of the island’s major festival.
