North seen as arts hub

IT’S TIME TO REDISCOVER the north of Barbados as a commercial hub.
That’s the advice from Opposition Leader Owen Arthur, who still believes the quaint city of Speightstown and its surrounding areas could be a place where Barbadian entrepreneurs could not only survive “but thrive in the midst of the current recession”.
Arthur, the Member of Parliament for St Peter, made the call on Saturday as the guest speaker of a special clay sculpting exhibition at the Caribbean Art Gallery in Speightstown.
“The north of Barbados is still a great place to do business. Speightstown is still a gem. I want our business people to realize that everything is not about Warrens. You can succeed in business here.
