AFTER A LITTLE more than a week, Exercise Tradewinds 2102 has come to an end.
It ended yesterday with a brief awards ceremony at which the visiting military personnel from the United States, Canada and the region were given appreciation plaques and warm words of thanks, mixed with hopes of continued camaraderie and cooperation.
Permanent Secretary, Defence and Security, Edison Alleyne said Tradewinds, under the theme Promoting Regional And Hemispheric Security And Stability had been a success and was evidence that the countries involved shared these goals.
“Your presence here provided ample evidence that treating common security threats is a shared goal. It is indeed heartening to me that the spirit of consultation, collaboration and partnership is alive and healthy and has characterized all aspects of Tradewinds,” he said.
