Spring Cottage slam into semis

Spring Cottage are into another dominoes semi-final.
Sharon Hinds and Gregston Maynard each had a perfect 18 points as the defending Banks three-hand knockout champs moved one spot away from defending their title after beating Sandra’s Bar and St Philip Reunited in Sunday’s quarter-finals at the Wildey Gym.
Led by Maynard and Hinds, Spring Cottage comfortably beat St Philip Reunited and Sandra’s Bar 70-51-47 to book a semi-final matchup against Ann Pelters and Welchman Hall.
The latter booked their spot after Christopher Worrell had 16 points to help them defeat Central Bank and Ometa’s Bar 75-52-44. Ann Pelters outlasted Fuh Hire and Progressive Stars 77-68-73.
Last year’s losing finalists French Village also safely progressed to the semis after getting the better of Brittons Hill and Cave Shepherd 79-57-78, with Alvin Cox topscoring with 16 points.
David Brathwaite had a perfect 18 points for Boscobel as they destroyed Lifelines and Passage Road 81-66-58, while Bathsheba advanced by downing Baxters Road and De Gulf 79-67-62.
JD’s overcame Easy Bake St Leonard’s and Spoilers 78-72-68 and the Barbados Men’s Team upended multi-league champs QEH and Truckmen Lookers Bar 78-71-67
Silver Strikers held on to beat KC Joint and Braves 79-77-73 to play in tonight’s semi-finals slated for the same venue.
In the Mixed Pairs quarter-finals, defending world champions Charmaine Carter and Hamilton Durant put themselves in line for yet another title after beating Cheryl Redman and Gladstone Licorish 3-6 6-3 6-4. (JM/PR)
