A well respected regional professor has some free political advice for Prime Minister Freundel Stuart.
Neville Duncan, professor emeritus of the University of the West Indies (UWI), is warning Stuart not to fall into the trap carefully laid by Opposition Leader Owen Arthur, who has been pressuring the Prime Minister to call a snap poll.
With the general election constitutionally due by April next year, Duncan believes Stuart should hold out for as long as he can, else he may wind up committing political suicide.
“He is in his first term of office as Prime Minister and he would want to hang around a bit to see if he could have some positive achievements, because so far he hasn’t got any runaway successes,” Duncan said in an interview with the SUNDAY SUN yesterday. (KJ)
