Perseverance seldom fails and Jazz Jazz-z Gittens and Alisha Mandisa Butcher can attest to the truth of it.
They are the new champs in the Junior Calypso Competition in the eight to 12 and 13 to 18 categories.
Both know what it is to be second best and are savouring the sweet taste of victory.
Jazz-Z was there on two consecutive occasions, while Mandisa was first runner-up last year in her debut.
They were crowned on Saturday night at the Scotiabank Junior Calypso Finals at the gymnasium of the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex. (YB)
