Not my call!

The Alexandra war of words switched from the Wildey Gymnasium to the House of Assembly yesterday with accusations that Government refused to take action against Jeff Broomes because of friendship.
Minister of Education Ronald Jones, however, told the Lower House that Broomes was not his bosom buddy, insisting that their friendship never got in the way of his handling of the issues at the school.
Contending that he did everything he was supposed to do, Jones told the House that he passed the Inspection Report on the school and its embattled principal and teachers to the Chief Education Officer for action.
He went on to explain that the Education Act made it very clear that it was not the minister who was responsible for taking action when such inspections were conducted. (GE/DB)
