Barbados is now under a Tropical Storm watch because of a tropical depression that appears to be stregnthening.
A tropical storm watch issued by the Barbados by the Barbados Meteorological Society, means that tropical storm conditions are possible within the watch area, in this case 24 to 36 hours.
The center of Tropical Depression Seven was located near latitude 13.7 North, longitude 51.9 west or about 500 miles or 800km to the east of Barbados. The depression is moving toward the west near 24 mph…39 km/h and centre of the system is expected to pass about 80 miles to the north of Barbados late Saturday/early Sunday.
Some slow strengthening of the system is likely during the next 24 to 36 hours. Regardless of its development this system still has the potential to generate significant showers, scattered thunderstorms and occasional gusty winds across Barbados.
