Barbadians can brace for rain tomorrow.
The Barbados Meteorological Services is monitoring another tropical depression, which could develop into Tropical Storm Isaac.
In a special weather bulletin issued today at 11:30 a.m. local Met officials said that on this present track, the center of the system is expected to pass about 180 miles or 290 km to the north of Barbados around midday tomorrow.
Tropical Depression number 9 was near latitude 15.1 north…longitude 52.8 west or about 475 miles…765 km to the east north east of Barbados.
“The depression is moving toward the west at near 20 mph…32 km/hr, and this general motion is expected to continue for the next couple of days. Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph…55km/hr…with higher gusts and some strengthening is forecasted during the next 24 – 48 hours,” stated the bulletin.
“Although this system will not directly impact Barbados, some associated cloudiness and showers will spread across the island tomorrow,” stated the bulletin.
Officials say they will continue to monitor the development of this system.  (CM/PR)
