Calling for readers to help the needy

Dear Readers,
Daily I am faced with letters such as those written below. They are usually from people – particularly mothers – who are having a hard time trying to make ends meet. These letters have nothing to do with those people who receive help from us on a weekly or monthly basis, thanks to the kindness of corporate Barbados and quite a few individuals. It always eases the burden when you, our readers, respond. In addition, when you do, you open the door to receive multiple blessings.Once more, I am appealing on the behalf of these letter writers. Any assistance you can give would be much appreciated.Feel free to call our offices at 430-5494 to make any arrangements to lend assistance. Thanks for making the decision to lend a helping hand. – CHRISTINE

Would like a job cooking or cleaning
Dear Christine,
How are you? I hope you are fine.Christine I am looking for a job – cooking, serving food or washing up in a restaurant, school or canteen.Christine, I have been at home for the past 14 months; I have my children to support, house rent to pay and I am also in need of food stuff.Whenever I can, I look in the newspapers for employment but have not been successful to date.I’ve written many applications but have not received any replies.Christine, you are my next resort. Please help me find a job.It can be full-time or part-time. I am leaving my contact number with you and look forward to hearing from you. – Tanya

Need money for bills
 Dear Christine,
First let me say thank you for helping so many people in Barbados. I think you do a wonderful job.My name is Jean. I am in my fifties and got laid off from work earlier this year. I am now in need of some help.My electricity has been turned off because I owe $400 dollars and I have not yet finished paying for my refrigerator.I have no money to buy food and I am very sad and worried. I need some help urgently.Thank you, Christine. – Jean
Looking for work as a cleaner
Dear Christine,
Greetings to you. I wrote before asking you to please help me find a job as a cleaner. It does not have to be a whole week job, as my husband is home now with foot problems and can no longer work.I just need something to do so that I can help pay the bills.I told you in my last letter how you can get into contact with me. I look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible. – E.

Mother needs some food for her children
Dear Christine,
I hope my letter finds you in good health. As I sit penning this letter, I am at my wits’ end as to the steps to take.Right now I find myself between a rock and a hard place.I know God never gives you more than you can handle. This is maybe the only reason I know that I can survive this.Although I work sometimes, it is amazing how fast the money can go between providing a happy home for your children, and paying the bills. This is why I am writing to you.I am having problems paying my bills but my main concern is feeding my children. I just need some assistance with some food items until I can weather this storm. If you or any of your readers or sponsors can provide me with some food vouchers, I would really be grateful. Many blessings for you and the great job you are doing. – ?
