Embattled principal Jeff Broomes should stay but science teacher Amaida Greaves, who allegedly turned her back on her students for an entire term in 2011, should be separated from The Alexandra School, according to the findings of the latest CADRES poll, conducted in late September.
Release of the survey results comes as the public awaits the official verdict coming out of the recently concluded Frederick Waterman-led commission of inquiry into the school.
Of the more than 1 000 people polled, the majority (45 per cent) felt that contrary to the strong wishes being expressed by members of the Barbados Secondary Teachers’ Union (BSTU), Broomes should be allowed to remain at the helm of the St Peter school.
However, Barbadians do not feel the same way about all the members of his teaching staff, with Greaves being singled out for censure. (KJ)
