New president of the Barbados Football Association (BFA), Randy Harris, has knocked the clashing of the two most lucrative out of season tournaments – the LIME Pelican Challenge and the David Thompson Memorial Constituency Councils Football?Classic.
“What is the real sense of organizing the [latter] tournament to run simultaneously with the LIME Pelican?” Harris asked in an interview with NATIONSPORT.
“Why should we have two tournaments of that magnitude running at the same time? I’m supportive of any tournament which gives stipends to players, but we are not maximizing [the potential].
“More people will benefit for a longer period of time if the two tournaments were organized at different times of the year.”
