THE QUEEN ELIZABETH HOSPITAL (QEH) has seen a significant improvement in debt collection.
Chief Executive Officer Dr Dexter James said yesterday that the  revised debt collection system was a “remarkable improvement.”
Speaking during the hospital’s 48th anniversary cake-cutting ceremony in the hospital’s private entrance, James said: “We continue to move diligently in strengthening our admission, billing and collection functions so that we can improve the [collection] rates to at least 95 per cent.”
The average collection rate currently stands  at 80 per cent for the first quarter of this year, compared to 39 per cent for the comparable period last year.
