THE QUEEN ELIZABETH HOSPITAL (QEH) has been accused by the Barbados Association of Medical Practitioners (BAMP) of deliberately exploiting doctors.
BAMP has also slammed the lack of progress in talks between them on ongoing contentious matters. The continuing shortages at the institution came under fire from BAMP too.
BAMP’s views were expressed in a Christmas message sent to its 471-strong membership by president Dr Carlos Chase on Christmas Eve. The message took the form of a brief summary of BAMP’s work for the year and touched on the QEH, the University of the West Indies (UWI), the new hospital and the polyclinics, among others topics.
On the QEH, BAMP said three consultants and a number of junior doctors were being disadvantaged by the employment practices at the hospital.
