Minister of Housing Michael Lashley believes the circumstances surrounding the issuing of the contract to Al Barrack to construct the controversial Warrens Office Complex should be the subject of an inquiry.
“It is from the bottom of my heart that I believe there should be an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the granting of the contract for Al Barrack,” Lashley said on Friday night at the official opening of the constituency office of Democratic Labour Party St George North candidate Senator Jepter Ince in Bridge Cot, Market Hill.
“I have no issues, I have no problems with Al Barrack,” Lashley told the gathering.
“I have no issues with a small contractor getting the job. I have no issues with that but if the process seems to be tainted, I believe that we have a duty to . . . call the whole Cabinet to account because they decided and gave the contract to Barrack. (MB/RB)
