Students battle for tourism title
Twelve of the island’s secondary schools are currently engaged in battle as they seek to capture the 2013 Ministry of Tourism Annual Speech competition title.
The 20 students are outlining strategies for propelling the island’s tourism product as it relates to the topics: Sports Tourism and The Use of Social Media in Marketing Barbados.
The annual competition is in its 13th year.
Among other things, it is designed to get more young people interested in the sector.
The winner of today’s competition will have the opportunity of representing the island regionally as well as an internship in the tourism sector here. (MM)
