Final say
A LETTER OF apology to LIME’s employees has been drafted and is awaiting the perusal of Prime Minister Freundel Stuart and LIME’S managing director Alex McDonald.
That is the status of negotiations between the Barbados Workers’ Union (BWU) and the telecommunications company, which had incurred the wrath of the union for sacking 97 workers.
LIME had agreed to issue an apology to the Minister of Labour and the affected workers because of its conduct in the affair.
A national strike was averted after Stuart intervened in the impasse. Stuart held two meetings with representatives from both sides and other stakeholders. The last meeting was a marathon session, which started last Friday and ended around 3 a.m. Saturday.
