CLICO staff: Hold pension deductions

Employees of financially strapped insurance company CLICO are demanding immediate suspension of their pension deductions and requesting an urgent meeting with the court-appointed judicial manager as uncertainty remains over the status of their pension plan.
With some former workers still waiting for payment of retirement benefits more than two years after leaving the company, a group of concerned CLICO workers have written to judicial manager Deloitte Consulting, which is represented by Oliver Jordan and Patrick Toppin, seeking answers.
They want assurances that after years of contributing to the scheme, their pensions are secure.
Jordan, speaking to the WEEKEND NATION yesterday, confirmed receipt of the December 27 correspondence and said the matter was engaging the attention of the judicial managers.
