United teams up with Line and Length
Line?and Length Network has joined forces with United Insurance Company Limited and sports channel, Sportsmax, to launch the United Insurance Line and Length Show.
The weekly show will air on Sportsmax, the Caribbean’s only 24-hour TV sports channel, with its debut set for next Thursday.
This was disclosed on Thursday by managing director of Line and Length Network, Barry Wilkinson during a Press conference at the Broad Street branch of United Insurance Company Limited.
Wilkinson, a well-known television and radio cricket commentator, said the show, which will be broadcast live on Saturday at 8 p.m, would be the first of its kind in the region.
He said it would provide news and commentary on West Indies cricket within the region and on the international scene as well as highlights and analysis.
“It is a pioneer project for the parties involved, as this will be the first time a live cricket show will be broadcast on Sportsmax across the region,” said Wilkinson, the executive producer.
“Many prominent cricket heroes and personalities will be featured on the show, either in person or via a Skype link-up.”
Wilkinson said former Barbados and West Indies batsman and cricket consultant, Desmond Haynes would be a guest on the first programme.
Chief operating officer at United Insurance, David Alleyne, expressed delight at being able to lend assistance to the show.
Meanwhile, the West Indies Cricket Board yesterday announced that the semi finals and final of the Regional Super50 will be broadcast live by ESPN Caribbean in similar fashion to the just concluded Caribbean Twenty20.
The semi finals and final will be played as day/night matches at Kensington Oval on April 18, 19 and 21.
