Cooperation between the various agencies involved in water resources management and the water users is important to satisfying the needs of both parties.
Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, Food, Fisheries and Water Resource Management, Michael King said that as the demands for water were increasing in order to satisfy the needs of the growing populations, food production, energy, industrial and domestic uses conflict has developed in some countries because of lack of cooperation.
He was speaking yesterday at a church service for the Barbados Water Authority at Bethel Methodist Church to mark the commencement of a week of activities to mark World Water Day, which will be observed on Friday, March 22.
