BARBADIAN Rivaldo Leacock stormed to a convincing victory in the boys’ Under-17 400 metres hurdles at the CARIFTA Games Sunday night.
Leacock accelerated down the backstretch, opened up his lead around the curve and extended it further coming into the homestretch to win by nearly 10 metres at the Thomas A Robinson Stadium in the Bahamas.
Earlier, fellow Barbadian Jalisa Burrowes also won gold in the Under-17 girls’ long jump.
It took Barbados’ tally at the Games to four medals following gold medal performances by sprinter Mario Burke and jumper Akela Jones on Saturday’s opening day.
