Healing Herbs: The greatest silent doctor
Holistic asscension is crucial! Clearly then, the spotlight must remain on consuming more holistic foods, especially Barbadian silent doctors.
For the past three weeks this column enlightened you about cleansing the body and ascending towards a more conscious state.
Furthermore, this ascension is essential because it may possibly save you from joining the sick or dead. Beyond this, our island is graced with many silent doctors and we must appreciate and utilize them.
This leads me to mentioning that I was shocked to realize that a number of people were unaware of the Baobab tree featured last week in this column. To avoid this re-occurrence, continue to follow this column, where healing and education about silent doctors always occurs.
Today, on this ascension journey, the spotlight is on silent doctor Wonder of the world. I name her “The Greatest Silent Doctor Ever”.
I gave its leaves to many persons whom I believe have many testimonies. I want you to remember that the Creator said: “Better is a dinner of herbs where love is than a fattened ox and hatred with it.” (Proverbs 15:17, KJV).
For that reason love abounds in silent doctor Wonder-of-the-world, also known as resurrection, cathedral, curtain or miracle plant, mother of thousands, leaf-of-life and clapper bush in English. Research revealed that this silent doctor can treat high cholesterol, asthma, diabetes, arthritis, high blood pressure, acid reflux, mosquito bites, headaches, bruises, inflammation, kidney stones and dislocations.
It can also treat earache, facial swelling, bronchitis, coughs, colds, ulcers, eczema, chicken pox, cancer, athlete’s foot, several skin problems and malnutrition. It also kills viruses, bacteria and fungi.
It is also very effective for stomach cramps, dysentery, toothache, bee stings, abnormal heavy and prolonged menstrual periods, indigestion, menstrual cramps and pain.
Further yet, this silent doctor continues to stun recent users. I thank the Creator that he allowed me to grow up in a household which was always graced with it.
Its scalloped edges, amazing flowers and fleshy leaves resembles divinity. For healing purposes, I would heat the leaves and squeeze out the juice for consumption.
The young leaves are tasty and I recognize that for external purposes it’s best to pound the leaves for better application. I have also used the heated leaf juice for earache.
Wonder of the world is one of the most incredible plants in Barbados. She remains silent and unknown in some gardens and I am honoured to write about this legend. She is a wisdom plant and is valid for our ascension, as we continue to soar into higher consciousness.• Annette Maynard-Watson, a teacher and herbal educator, may be contacted at [email protected] or call 250-6450.
