Barbados dominate T&T
BARBADOS routed arch rivals Trinidad and Tobago for a meagre 110 in their first innings on the opening day of the 2013 Regional 4-Day cricket final at Kensington Oval today.
And at the tea interval, Barbados had made an encouraging response, reaching 50 without loss in 12 overs with Rashidi Boucher not out 38 and Kraigg Brathwaite on 11.
Miguel Cummins, a 22-year-old fast bowler in his first full season, wrecked the Trinidad and Tobago batting line-up, taking five for 30 in 12.4 overs.
West Indies’ fast bowler Kemar Roach and left-arm spinner Sulieman Benn supported Cummins with two wickets each for 35 and 13 runs respectively.
Rayad Emrit top-scored for Trinidad and Tobago with a knock of 34 which enabled his team to reach the 100-run mark after they were tottering on 70 for nine. He featured in a last-wicket partnership of 40 runs with pacer Shannon Gabriel. (EZS)
