THE PEOPLE’S CATHEDRAL PRIMARY SCHOOL is trying to address the shortage of male teachers in the system.
The Bishop’s Court Hill, St Michael school has six men on the teaching staff to assist with shaping the minds of the 325 students on roll along with just over 20 female teachers.
Speaking after a tour of the school plant by Minister of State in the Ministry of Education Senator Harry Husbands yesterday, chairman of the board, Paul Williams, told reporters the presence of the male figures in the classrooms had been beneficial.
“It definitely is a benefit for the boy students to be able to socialize and have a male role model,” Williams said. (YB)
