Parkinson Memorial Secondary principal Jeff Broomes has denied being responsible for placing one of his students under a tree on the school’s compound.
“I have never put a child under a tree in my life and I have no further comment. If you want to know more, call the Ministry (of Education),” Broomes said in an email to the SUNDAY SUN.
In Friday’s WEEKEND NATION, Annette Bowen, mother of a 15-year-old male student, expressed concern that the chances of her son getting into fifth form were slim since he was made to sit under a tree while promotion examinations were going on.
She claimed her son was being punished for refusing to paint a wall which he allegedly defaced.
According to Bowen, it was the fourth day her son was made to stay under the tree. (TS)
