FORMER Barbados and West Indies fast bowler Milton Small and long-standing national netballer Jacqueline McConney (née Browne) have been dismissed from their coaching jobs at the National Sports Council (NSC).
The two coaches were handed their termination letters on Monday evening after they had been summoned earlier to disciplinary hearings of the NSC’s Establishment Committee.
Both Small, who played two Tests as a 20-year-old for the West Indies against Australia and England in 1984, and Browne, a former Barbados basketballer, were employed at the NSC for 18 years.
A reliable source told the DAILY?NATION the Establishment Committee recommended a three-month suspension for the two coaches but the final decision to fire them was made by the NSC’s board, headed by chairman Seibert Straughn.
Small and Browne have 14 days to appeal the decision to terminate them.  (EZS
