I am 24 years old and I am going to have a baby quite soon. My problem is that the child’s father does not speak to me anymore.
There is another guy who is very nice to me. I knew him from school days. He says he loves me but he is annoyed about my pregnancy.
Christine, the child’s father does not give me a cent.
Do you think I should try harder to make up with him or stay with the other guy who does not care about the child?

I know it is not easy for you right now, especially with a child on the way, and the child’s father not being as supportive as he should.
It seems that neither of these men is the right one for you. If you are trying to make up with your child’s father, who has already left you out in the cold – so to speak – that will be a tough case, because right now he is not speaking to you and it does not seem as though he cares.
The other guy wants you but not the child. What kind of future do you expect to have with him? Would you consider abandoning your child for a man?
You have to consider that child’s future. Perhaps you also thought you were ready for parenthood. It’s hard on a child when both parents are not around to provide the care that child will need.
You’ve got a tough case on your hands and I can only hope that you will make the correct decision for the child and not be self-centred when it comes to that child’s future.
