DEAR CHRISTINE: Stay away from early sex

Dear Christine,
I’d like some space in your column to speak to the young girls – teenagers and those up to 21.
I want to encourage them and let them know that there is more to life than having the most expensive cellphone, engaging in sex, as well as dressing in the latest brand-name clothing.
Allow me to address the issue of early sex. Young girls, the men you go out with and that you give access to your body are not looking for long-term relationships or any type of commitment, for that matter.
Your bodies are special. Treat them with respect and do not open yourself to all kinds of sexually transmitted diseases.
I have seen numerous young women become pregnant or have to face the fact that what they thought was true love was only men preying on them. In the end they are hurt, humiliated and deeply saddened at having to raise children on their own.
I believe that these girls should seek to live lives that are honourable in God’s sight. All of us were born in sin and shaped in iniquity, but that’s no reason to allow your bodies to be used.
Marriage is an honorary thing in the sight of God, and must be treated as such.
I encourage you to give your youth to God and let Him rule over you. Yes, it is not easy to do, but with God’s help you can.
Stop the running around and make sure the men respect you for any stand you take to maintain your dignity.
Live life and enjoy life, but please do not prostitute yourselves. You’ll be sorry after, especially when you look back at your life years from now.
Take my advice and don’t allow anyone to make you think you are stupid or a fool because you are not running at the same speed they are.
– W.M.
Dear W.M.,
Your letter explains itself and there is no need for me to add anything to it other than to tell young people out there to take heed of your advice.
– CHRISTINE
