In the potter’s house

A reddish-brown “monkey” is always a beautiful sight to behold, especially for those who are familiar with the cooling benefits.
Yesterday was a treat in more ways than one for 88-year-old Adaliade Crichlow, who took a scenic ride to Chalky Mount, St Andrew, for the month-long expo in Chalky Mount Village.
It was the first time in many years she had been in those parts, and she did so by bus with her two daughters.
Crichlow said she had a “wonderful” time watching potter John Springer at work, followed by a tour.
Here, Crichlow (right) reminiscing with Springer about the refreshingly cool drinks they would have enjoyed from the depths of a “monkey”.
