SSA worker on $2 500 bail
An employee of the Sanitation Service Authority (SSA) was granted bail yesterday after being charged with wounding a work colleague last week.
Monroe McDonald Pilgrim, 52, of Airy Hill, St Joseph, pleaded not guilty to unlawfully and maliciously wounding Owen Weir on Wednesday. Prosecutor, Sergeant Rudy Pilgrim, told the District “A” Magistrates’ Court that Weir, 55, received stab wounds to the shoulder and left anterior chest area, and also complained of neck pain, after an incident between the two men.
Weir was treated and discharged from theQueen Elizabeth Hospital the same day.
Magistrate Graveney Bannister put Pilgrim on $2 500 bail with a surety and adjourned the matter until August 19. (BA)
