‘Dire need’ for building audits

A STRUCTURAL ENGINEER is urging Government to have building audits.  
The appeal for the safety measure comes from Grenville Phillips II against a background of a thrust towards more high-rise residential buildings.
The high-rise accommodation forms part of the adminstration’s plan to provide more housing solutions in a country with limited land space.
“It’s the Government’s role to regulate buildings . . . . Audits should be done of designs and construction,” Phillips advised.
