Customs pay cry

The acting?allowance shortfall bug has hit the customs department.
Dozens of customs officers who were being paid acting allowances, received their pay slips a few days ago, minus those additional monies.
A senior customs officer, requesting anonymity, told the MIDWEEK?NATION close to 100 officers could be affected by these cuts, a situation that has already affected other segments of the public service.
Over the weekend, as many as 40 postal workers who were being paid for acting in positions had that additional money cut from their August salaries without warning.
