Police have made some significant headway in the smuggling of illegal weapons into Barbados.
Public relations officer Inspector David Welch, in a press release this morning, said members of the Drug Squad executed a search warrant at a Christ Church residence yesterday and seized 18 different types of firearms of various calibers.
Three men are now in custody assisting with investigations into this discovery.
Police also seized a quantity of ammunition of various calibers.
“The firearms had been disassembled to accommodate the method used for the smuggling operation” stated the release. (CM/PR)
