CASTRIES, Saint Lucia (CMC) – The Caribbean Regional Anti-Doping Organization (RADO) is taking its campaign to combat drugs in sport to St Lucia this week.
A two day anti-doping workshop begins here tomorrow targeting secondary school coaches around the island.
The workshop is part of a regional UNESCO project which also includes St Kitts and Nevis, Barbados and the British Virgin Islands.
“It targets Physical Education teachers and coaches in secondary schools from around the island,” Said Dr Kenneth Louisy, one of the organizers of the workshop.
The workshop will be led by Tessa Chaderton-Shaw, executive director of the Caribbean Regional Anti-Doping Organization, Ministry of Education personnel and local facilitators which include certified Doping Control Officers.
This workshop, entitled “Levelling the Playing Field in the High School Sector” is being funded by UNESCO through its Fund for the Elimination of Doping in Sport.
