Don’t want to fall for his ‘sweet lines’
Dear Christine,
I am 20 years old and recently broke up with a longtime boyfriend.
I have been reintroduced to someone with whom I went to school. However, I didn’t know him well back then. This man says all the right things, but I’m not sure how to tell the difference between sincerity and the “lines” men use these days.
Do all men say the things a girl wants to hear just to get what they want? Is it possible to tell the difference between sincerity and these “lines”? Are there any tell-tale signs I should watch for?

Dear LB,
Sometimes men [and women] say the nicest things just to win another person over.
I believe the best test of sincerity is time. Lookout for inconsistencies and whether or not the individual always gets what they want, rather than what makes you happy.
If after months have passed your friend is still saying all the right things, the odds are that he is sincere and you are a “lucky” lady.
