Bring solutions, Inniss tells the Opposition
An outspoken?Government minister has accused the Opposition of trying to destroy Barbados’ economy and reputation and scare off international investors.
Responding to comments made by Opposition Leader Mia Mottley in yesterday’s DAILY NATION, Minister of International Business Donville Inniss said she continued to speak ill of the economy instead of bringing solutions to the table.
Mottley had promised unspecified action against the Freundel Stuart administration if it did not show how it would rescue the Barbados economy by the end of yesterday.
“There are some matters that we will wait to hear on this week and if we don’t hear what we need to hear, and if we don’t see correction in Parliament on Tuesday, then we will do what we have to do because this country is a law-abiding country,” Mottley had said.
“This country must be rescued and rescue it we will do . . . . So stay tuned because the hour is coming upon us.”
However, Inniss told the MIDWEEK NATION he was not moved by “those threats and that noise”.
“I listen to everything the Leader of the Opposition and her team have to say and it is criticism after criticism. And I, like so many other Barbadians, sit patiently . . . and listen to hear when they have an alternative to offer,” said Inniss.
