Over sixty shooters from Barbados and across the region will descend on the Barbados Rifle Association for the Best of Both Worlds shooting competition on October 26 at Paragon.
Hosted by the Smoking Barrels team, the competition, which is in its third year, will see entrants from St Lucia, Trinidad and local law enforcement vying for the coveted title of “Ultimate Shooter”.
The competition will merge the two major disciplines of shooting – service pistol/static shooting (no moving with gun in hand) with international practical shooting/tactical shooting (running and shooting).
Day one shoots off at noon at the Waterford range with five challenging stages which will test shooters in accuracy and the ability to shoot at a stationary target from various positions.
The next day will consist of eight rigorous International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) stages at Paragon where shooters will have to run and engage targets as fast and accurately as possible.
Points gathered over the two days will be tallied to determine who will be crowned the “Ultimate Shooter”.
All eyes will be on local boys Adrian Marshall, Rodney Clarke, Sean Banfield, Rickey McConney, Dennis Bellamy and Kevin Grant for that title. (JM)
