The Barbados Tourism Authority (BTA) is working with the airlines to bring additional flights for various upcoming events.
Minister of Tourism Richard Sealy has disclosed that LIAT and Caribbean Airlines had introduced additional flights for both the Rihanna concert and the Food & Wine And Rum Festival, and he said the same could be done for the Saturday, December 7 Hennessy Artistry show.
Speaking at the launch for the fifth edition of Hennessy Artistry at Kensington Oval last Thursday night, Sealy said 2 000 people from outside Barbados had bought tickets for the Friday, November 1 Rihanna concert, and was “heartened” by the fact that more than 100 overseas-based fans had already purchased tickets for the Artistry show.
Sealy agreed with director of FAS Entertainment, Al Gilkes, that the show provided a filler in the down season for tourism before the winter season kicked in on December 15. (YB)
