Woman struck and killed on Highway 2A

CARLENE STUART, a 65-year-old mother of three was struck and killed while on the job this morning.
Stuart, of Black Bess, St Peter, has been with the Drainage Unit of the Ministry of Transport and Works for more than ten years.
She was working along the Blowers Road, St James section of the Ronald Mapp Highway (2A) when she was struck by either one or two vehicles around 8:40 a.m..
Two males in one vehicle fled the scene and Police are requesting the public’s assistance in locating those individuals.
Three occupants in the other vehicle were taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
The section of the Ronald Mapp Highway from the Lawrence Johnson roundabout (near St Thomas parish church) and Lancaster Junction at the bottom of Orange Hill, St James is closed to through traffic. (CA/SAT)
