Fire tore through Jenny’s Upholstery, a small business at Sobers Corner, Bank Hall Cross Road, St Michael yesterday morning destroying around $40 000 in furniture and material.
The tragedy struck just weeks before Christmas, razing the wooden structure and disappointing several householders on the verge of decorating their homes for the holidays.
Jenether Holdipp, of Glenburnie, St John, who operated the venture for the last 13 years and employed five people, said she did not know where to begin following the blaze.
“I don’t know where to start. This is a big loss. Everything burn flat,” she said, adding that the business was not insured. (AC)
