Just as they had done during the recently concluded Goddard Enterprises Limited 2013 volleyball competitions, Flow Sentry Brokers Deacons women and Chargers men dominated the awards ceremony held on Saturday night at Divi South Winds.
Deacons captured the MVP titles with six footers, Julia Lewis taking the knockout and Fabia Greaves winning in the league. Chargers’ Mark Lewis was voted MVP for the knockouts while Barbados captain earned that honour in the league.
Christopher Symmonds, sales marketing and distribution manager of Purity Bakeries, a subsidiary of GEL, indicated that the social and sporting development which volleyball created synced with GEL social contract. Simmons also lauded the local association for producing an exciting product which merited the long time support of GEL.
President of the BVA John Griffith added that the exciting 2013 season was a result of the hard work of the players, the programmes put on by the BVA as well as the tremendous support from the corporate partners like GEL. (KB)
