IT WAS A MASTER’S TOUCH of holiday cheer yesterday morning at the Sterling Children’s Home in St Philip.
Environmental services and supplies company Master’s Touch gifted the ten-bedroom home with a general cleaning that included a dusting, bed and bathroom sanitization and floor cleaning.
Seven cleaners and a supervisor arrived around 9 a.m. to carry out the all-day cleaning.
Managing director Lancelot Myers said Master’s Touch always planned to give back to the community.
“It is Christmas time and the spirit of giving is in the air, so we chose a time like this to give back,” he told the DAILY NATION.
“Giving is a very essential part of living and at this time we chose to give a nice, clean environment.”
It was the first time for Master’s Touch to make a charitable donation, and it also ensured that staff were a part of the effort.
They were encouraged to donate toiletries and food items which will be presented to staff and the facility’s 19 wards on Thursday morning.
House parent Enid Norville thanked the company for its efforts, adding: “Normally we would have general workers who would clean the entire home, but I guess now the beds would be looking more like new and it would seem as though it is a new home.
“We are very happy and thankful to them for donating the services to us and I know the children will enjoy it.”
