‘WILD’ CUTS

Date:

Share post:

MORE PUBLIC sector employees joined the breadline yesterday as the Government came under fire for “wildly” axing workers.

And the National Union of Public Workers (NUPW), the main bargaining body for public servants, is warning that it will be going after Government in the coming days as a retrenchment list remains elusive.

Today the union will meet with hundreds of workers given the boot last Friday from the National Housing Corporation, the Government’s agency for providing low-cost homes.

There was a flurry of reports about lay-offs in small batches across Government agencies, some of which occurred over the weekend. (AC)
